Smiths Point is the vision of Canal Rocks Pty Ltd, an independent developer based in Perth and owned by a group of Western Australian individuals and families.

Canal Rocks was established in 1985 with the sole purpose of developing the 40 hectares at Smiths Beach and realising the vision of both the developers and the Leeuwin Naturalist Ridge Statement of Planning Policy.

For the last 25 years, the group has remained committed to creating a world-class tourism and residential development that caters for the changing needs of the Western Australian community.

The Chairman of Canal Rocks Pty Ltd, David McKenzie, has on a number of occasions highlighted the developer’s determination to ensure that Smiths Point is the “best example of sustainable living on the Western Australian coast”.

“The environment is our best asset and we have worked extremely hard to ensure Smiths Point is well within local and State government guidelines for height, dwelling density and visual amenity, and to ensure that it exceeds community expectations for environmental management and community facilities”.

“We have done everything we can to ensure that the community’s needs and expectations for this beautiful site are realised”, Mr McKenzie said.

Mr McKenzie, and all of the unit holders of Canal Rocks, sincerely thank all the consultants and those people in Western Australia, and beyond, who have shown such strong support for this project, and who have worked with the developers to make the Smiths Point project a reality.

The unit holders of Canal Rocks look forward to vindicating the support and enthusiasm that has been shown by so many people as the project begins to take shape in the years ahead.
